Global Recycle Standard (GRS), certifies products obtained from recycled materials and manufacturing activities. It values products made from recycled materials, in compliance with environmental and social criteria extended to all stages of the production chain.
The Global Recycle Standard (GRS) is promoted by Textile Exchange, one of the most important non-profit organizations promoting internationally responsible and sustainable development in the textile sector. With this standard, Textile Exchange recognizes the fundamental importance of recycling for the growth of a sustainable production and consumption model; it aims to promote the reduction of resource consumption (virgin raw materials, water and energy) and to increase the quality of recycled products.

The SRG provides for the issuance of a third-party verified environmental statement that provides evidence:

– the recycled material content of their products (both intermediate and finished)

– compliance with environmental and social criteria at all stages of the production chain.

– product composition and content of recycled materials

– maintaining traceability throughout the entire production process

– restrictions on the use of chemicals.

– Compliance with relevant environmental criteria which may cover: water supply; waste water discharge; energy recovery (use of selected waste); air pollutant emissions; waste production and management; soil and groundwater contamination; management of hazardous substances, preparations and materials; noise emissions; emergency management

– compliance with social criteria relating to workers’ rights.

The request for GRS-certified products must be made when ordering. The Royal Co. is GRS certified and the TC (Transaction Certificate for processed textile products according to the global recycled standard) issued by ICEA, the body delegated by Textile Standard for the control and monitoring of GRS traceability and compliance operations in Italy, will follow the delivery of the GRS certified product.

N. B. It will not be possible to issue the TC if the GRS request has not been formulated together with the order.

The Transaction Certificate does not authorise the buyer/receiver of the goods to use the GRS logo or to refer to GRS. The rules for the labelling of GRS-certified products are outlined in the “Guide to use and claim the GRS logo” (available at http://www.GlobalRecycled.org).

The ALPACA ORIGIN MARK guarantees the content and quality of the alpaca fiber used in the different products that bear the ALPACA MARK. It is thus a commitment to excellence on the part of all those who belong to the I.A.A. (International Alpaca Association) to protect businesses and consumers.

Being the oldest collective symbol in the sector, the ALPACA MARK is well placed nationally and worldwide. It is registered in 30 different countries including European Union members and others which comprise the world’s principal textile markets – such as Italy, Japan, Peru, France, Germany, United Kingdom and Spain.

Responsible Wool Standard is a voluntarily adopted standard that deals with the welfare of sheep and the land on which they graze.

The main objectives of the Responsible Wool Standard are to provide the textile industry with the tools to recognise farmers’ best practices and ensure that wool comes from farms that have an innovative approach to managing their land, practice holistic respect for sheep welfare and respect the Five Animal Freedoms.

RWS requires certification of all sales transactions between companies, starting with the farmers and ending with the manufacturer or clothing brand. Retailers (business-to-consumer) do not have to be certified. Farms are certified for animal welfare and land management and the social modules of RWS. Subsequent stages in the supply chain are certified according to the requirements of the standard for content application.

The certification for organic textile products ensures the use of natural fibers (cotton, linen, hemp, silk, wool) grown according to the principles of Organic Agriculture, i.e. without the use of synthetic chemical pesticides, of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).

The use of organic natural fibers, their traceability along the production chain and the adoption of eco-sustainable processes led to the formalization of the international standard GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). GOTS makes it possible to produce and promote textile products that respect the environment and the fundamental social rights of workers.

CCPB is recognized and accredited by IOAS (International Organic Accreditation Service) as authorised certification body for textile products in compliance with the GOTS standard:

  • Certification of the trading and derivates
  • Certification of the textile and machinery processes, the fabric operations and its products
  • Certification of the finishing operations and their products

The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) is developed by Textile Exchange , one of the most important non-profit organizations that promote responsible and sustainable development in the textile sector internationally.

With this standard, Textile Exchange intends to enhance the use of recycled materials to promote a production and sustainable consumption model that aims to reduce the consumption of resources (virgin raw materials, water and energy).

The RCS provides a third party verified environmental statement which proves the content of recycled materials of the products (both intermediate and finished). All products that are made up for can be RCS certified at least 5% from pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled materials .
